How Do I make a 1000PPM Available Chlorine disinfectant solution?

by Matt Besley on 16-3-2020

NorovirusThe Public Health England advice for cleaning after a Coronovirus case recomends cleaning with a neutral detergent, followed by a disinfectant solution at a dilution of 1000 parts per million (PPM) available chlorine.  So just how do you work out what you need to use?

The simplest way to acheive 1000ppm is to dilute one bleach tablet per 1L of water.  This gives you 1000ppm.

Take care when using chlorine, as it does have the potential to damage some surfaces.
