How Do I make a 1000PPM Available Chlorine disinfectant solution?
Matt Besley on 16-3-2020
The Public Health England advice for cleaning after a Coronovirus case recomends cleaning with a neutral detergent, followed by a disinfectant solution at a dilution of 1000 parts per million (PPM) available chlorine. So just how do you work out what you need to use?
The simplest way to acheive 1000ppm is to dilute one bleach tablet per 1L of water. This gives you 1000ppm.
Take care when using chlorine, as it does have the potential to damage some surfaces.
Windmill Eliminator Extreme, which is a ready to use (RTU) virucidal disinfectant, may be used very effectively on all touch surface areas.
Eliminator Extreme is a non-chlorine based solution and has been independently tested to kill Norovirus with a 5 minute contact time.
Also proven to kill E. Coli, Swine Flu, HIV, Hepatitis C, MRSA & Clostridium difficile. Passes EN 1276, 13704, 1650, 14476 & 14675.
Available in ready to use format, as well as a 5L concentrate which can be diluted down 1:10 - please bear in mind that in the 750ml ready to use format it has a shelf life of approximately 2 years, when diluting yourself it has a shelf life of approximatetly 2 weeks.
